10.08.2021 - For the third time in series, “WELT” awards top research and application achievements in the field of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is the technology of the 21st century. This is generally agreed and, for this reason, the publishing house Axel Springer under its brand WELT issued the German AI-Award in 2019 for the first time in order to honor outstanding research and development achievements all around artificial intelligence. „AI – Made in Germany“ is also a claim of the German AI-strategy of the Federal Minstry of Economics which supports the project.
The promotion of innovative AI-concepts is also a special concern of gate-Startup CELUS. The founder and managing director of the company, Tobias Pohl, sees great potential for the successful implementation of artificial intelligence, especially in the merger of economics, research and politics: „We are very happy to sponsor the German AI-award and, thus, the most important technology of our times in the economic area of Germany. As a community consisting of representatives of economics, research and politics, we can send a clear signal and give trailblazing AI-innovations a national platform. The German AI-Award is a lighthouse for the Federal Republic and underlines the innvoative and creative power of the country.“
The award ceremony will take place on 30th september 2021 in Berlin. The „German AI-Award“ will be assigned again in three categories: AI-innovation-prize, AI-application-prize and AI-startup-prize.
The innovation prize remunerated with 100,000.- Euros will be granted to research institutes, foundations, or the like, for trailballazing achievements in researching and developing AI. The unendowed application prize is given to enterpreneurs for outstanding accomplishments regarding the practical use of AI.
The AI-startup-prize is awarded start-ups located in the capital region Berlin-Brandenburg, whose business model is based on a paradigmatic and innovative usage of AI being no older than five years at the time of the ceremony. The prize for the winner is remunerated with 10,000 Euros and is supported by the Berlin business development Berlin Partners for Ecnonomics and Technology.
