TUM International GmbH
TUM International GmbH is a 100-% subsidiary of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). It develops, coordinates and implements university-related projects with national and international research partners from science, politics and industry. The multifaceted portfolio comprises the areas of technology transfer, development of international universities, strategic consultancy, scientific project management and talent management.
The company also focuses on providing academic consultancy services in the development of international university locations, especially in Asia and Near East.
TUM’s division InSITE BAVARIA is an internationally operating center of excellence developing industrial sites. For the “City of the Future” in Shenzhen/South China they have developed a European cluster hub with an innovation center and production sites. In the development of sites the company follows an innovative methodical approach which is based on long-term experience in cluster-, science- and network management.
With the Center of Knowledge Interchange (CKI) which has been brought into being together with Siemens AG, TUM International GmbH sets new standards not only in terms of stratecic technology transfer, but also referring to joint talent development. Besides, a transfer center in the field of chemical science has been created together with Evonik Industries.
Additionally, TUM International GmbH implements industry-oriented talent management measurements which are addressed to outstanding students of the university – amongst others mentorING, the support program for women, or Siemens mentoring focussed on IT. Moreover, TUM International integrates the education and training programs of the university into the private sector.
Representing university-oriented interests, the TUM-subsidiary has contracted futher cooperations, e.g. at the gate – Garchinger Technologie- und Gründerzentrum or at the KME – Kompetenzzentrum Mittelstand GmbH.
